Vancouver, Washington 2019
Commissioned by the Chabad Jewish Center of Clark County, this menorah
was designed as a free-standing and demountable work for an annual
Hanukkah menorah-lighting ceremony in a public setting. The
19-foot-tall stainless steel sculptural object can be disassembled and
erected as a kit-of-parts, similar to tent pole construction. The base
gets filled with sand and stones to create a ballast for wind loads,
when assembled, and the menorah candles can be lit with a real flame, as
well as an LED bulb.
